Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier announces KIBU JUMPER Adventure World as a new key leisure and experience anchor
In combination with its diverse selection of retail and gastronomy partners, the extraordinary experience, entertainment, and cultural offerings at Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier create a one-of-a-kind leisure destination in Northern Germany. The KIBU JUMPER Adventure World takes interactive recreation to a new level: on over 2,000 square meters and across 25 unique adventure rooms, visitors of all ages can look forward to an exciting experience that playfully promotes team spirit, reflexes, and cognitive skills. As the first concept of its kind, the KIBU JUMPER Adventure World is an innovative live-action experience and adds a new dimension to the quarter’s offerings right on the Elbe river.
The KIBU JUMPER Adventure World (KJ Adventure World) is inspired by the popular KIBU JUMPER youth book series and transforms its action-packed world into a real-life adventure. Teams of two to six players compete against each other in different mission rooms, solving tricky puzzles in a race against time.
Anna Laura Riemann, Leasing Project Leader at Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier (Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield), says: “We are very excited about our partnership with KIBU JUMPER Adventure World, which adds another important pillar to our leisure and experience segment – one of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier’s outstanding USPs. This extraordinary concept will not only excite the people of Hamburg but also attract guests from other regions, further strengthening our destination’s national significance in the heart of HafenCity.”
Maze Kahle, founder of the KIBU JUMPER Adventure World, adds: “Our goal was to create a world of experiences that combines physical activity, brainpower, and excitement. It’s not just about scoring points – it’s about real teamwork, smart thinking, and action like in a video game, except you’re part of it yourself. We want our visitors to not just have fun, but to immerse themselves in a whole new world. Each room offers a
A new level of interactive action
Players can choose missions set in London, Paris, or Hamburg. No matter which city is selected – equipped with special transponder wristbands, players must complete physical and mental challenges that demand logic, cleverness, and teamwork. Points are collected throughout the missions and converted into additional game time for the final puzzle room. Only those who crack the secret door code gain access to the exclusive Champions Zone.
In addition to its action-packed adventure world, the KIBU JUMPER Adventure World features “Jimi’s Bistro” – offering a spectacular panoramic view of the Port of Hamburg. The bistro is the perfect place to relax before or after the adventure and serves as a vibrant meeting spot for the community. The delicious menu at Jimi’s Bistro was developed by Sven Schröder, head chef at ONO by Steffen Henssler. Highlights include fluffy “Kaiserschmarrn” with unique toppings, fish and chips, and an excellent currywurst. The KIBU JUMPER Adventure World is located on the ground floor promenade level of the building that also houses the cruise terminal. The opening is scheduled for April 8, in line with the general launch of retail, dining, and entertainment spaces at Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier.
Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier: A new shopping and leisure destination
Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier is designed for the community and offers a unique, accessible environment for living, working, shopping, and spending time. The retail, gastronomy, leisure, and medical service areas include a total of around 170 concepts. Leasing coverage currently stands at 95%, and demand for the remaining spaces remains strong. A key aspect of the leasing strategy: over half of the brands and concepts represented in the quarter have not been present in Hamburg’s city center, and one-third are entirely new to the city.
Other key anchor tenants already confirmed include Breuninger, Inditex (with five stores, including one of Germany’s largest Zara flagship stores), H&M, ANSON’S, Mango, Thalia, INTERSPORT Knudsen, REWE Piclum, as well as Port des Lumières, Lego Discovery Centre, and Kinopolis.
The offering is complemented by residential units, offices, three hotels, and the cruise terminal. The quarter is optimally integrated into local infrastructure with its own subway station, bus lines, and various mobility options. With its direct location on the Elbe and a unique waterfront promenade, Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier sets a new standard for urban living, working, and leisure by the water.
