Peter Tschentscher, first Mayor of Hamburg, visits construction site of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier

On June 29, 2023, Dr Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, visited the construction site of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier. He was welcomed by Jean-Marie Tritant, CEO of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, to discuss the progress of the construction site and the project development in general. They were accompanied by Dr Andreas Kleinau, CEO of HafenCity Hamburg GmbH and Dirk Hünerbein, Director of Development Austria & Germany at URW.

In addition, in the context of this week’s appointments, Jacques Richier, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of URW, was on site to receive an update on the project and URW’s general activities in Germany. He was in an intensive exchange with the teams around Andreas Hohlmann, Managing Director Austria & Germany, and Bruno Escur, Director of Development Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier.

The key topics in the meetings were URW’s ambition to create sustainable places that reinvent being together, the sustainable profile of the mixed-use development project in Hamburg’s HafenCity in detail, its modern infrastructure with a comprehensive mobility concept as well as the already high pre-letting rate of over 75% of the areas for retail, dining and leisure. It also became particularly clear how far the project has already progressed in terms of construction.

Everyone involved is looking forward to the opening in spring 2024.
